Redrawing a film through some of its frames means telling another story. That of "La Notte" by Antonioni is the story of a couple in crisis that, over the course of a day, takes different paths and meets different people and then ends up at a party where both fall in love with others. To find themselves at dawn to make love for the last time, and then split up for good.
The story as drawn is that of two people who do not communicate at the beginning and who seem reunited at the end. In the middle, however, it happens that the female figures become confused and the young Monica Vitti (by whom Mastroianni is fascinated during the party) becomes almost the only female figure.
Who does he walk away with at the end?
